A Month of Release, Reset, and Rising
September 2025 is not a quiet month. It’s a month that asks us to pause, to listen, and to feel the ground shifting beneath us. With two eclipses, five planets retrograde, and the Autumn Equinox turning the wheel of the year, this is a time when the universe reminds us that change is not only inevitable, it is sacred.
The story begins with the total lunar eclipse in Pisces on September 7th. Lunar eclipses often mark culminations, but in Pisces the tone is softer, almost dissolving. Something is being washed away - illusions, emotional attachments, or even old grief that has lingered too long. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, a place where endings naturally occur. This eclipse asks us to surrender, to release what we’ve been holding onto out of fear or habit. If the tears come, let them. If clarity arrives in dreams or intuition, trust it. The more we let go here, the more space we create for what is to come.

Just two weeks later, we step into the solar eclipse in Virgo on September 21st. If Pisces dissolves, Virgo rebuilds. This eclipse is like a reset button, a chance to reorder our lives with more discernment. Virgo is practical, detail-oriented, and deeply connected to health and rhythm. Under this eclipse, new beginnings emerge in the form of better routines, clearer priorities, and structures that support rather than drain us.
It’s an invitation to ground our energy, to create habits that nourish body, mind, and spirit. The intentions we set now ripple forward for months, even years, to come.
Between these two eclipses, the Autumn Equinox arrives on September 22nd, when the Sun enters Libra, and shifts our collective focus. Equinoxes mark a balance between day and night, a symbolic reminder that harmony is possible in our lives too. Where have we been over-giving or under-receiving? Where has the scale tipped too far toward work or too far toward escape? Libra’s season brings attention back to relationships - how we connect, how we collaborate, and how we cultivate beauty in our daily lives.
Overlaying all of this is a strong retrograde current. Saturn, Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are all moving backward through the sky, pulling our awareness inward. Retrogrades are not punishments; they are invitations. They ask us to revisit what we thought was finished, to rethink the patterns guiding our choices, and to realign before pushing ahead. This many retrogrades at once is like a cosmic chorus chanting: slow down, reflect, don’t force it yet.
Thankfully, Mercury’s passage through Virgo from September 2 - 18 offers clarity. Our minds sharpen, our words find precision, and we may feel more capable of organizing the chaos that eclipses and retrogrades can stir up. This is an excellent time for journaling, making plans, or even clearing clutter - mental or physical. Small steps taken here have a way of leading to big transformations.
As the month draws to a close, the energy begins to shift again. Mars enters Libra on September 28th, energizing partnerships and reminding us that we don’t have to do everything alone. Then on September 30th, Venus enters Leo, reigniting joy, creativity, and confidence after weeks of quieter reflection. Relationships, self-expression, and love all begin to feel lighter, brighter, and more alive.
So how do we walk through September 2025? With openness, patience, and trust. This is a month that moves in cycles: release, reset, and rise. We let go under the Pisces Moon, rebuild under the Virgo Sun, and find balance as Libra season begins. It’s not about rushing forward but about honouring the rhythm of endings and beginnings, of dissolving and creating.
As you move through this month, ask yourself:
What is leaving my life, and can I let it go with grace?
What new rhythms or routines would support my well-being?
Where do I need more balance - in love, in work, in my inner world?
The answers to these questions are the true guidance of this season. September is not just about watching the skies; it’s about letting their patterns reshape the way we live here on Earth.
P.S. The beautiful artwork was created by my talented daughter, Nika Kamalova. It’s a gentle reminder to create your own happiness no matter the season - and that letting go of something today may open the path to amazing things in the future. 💫
